We just love him so much! He's such a fun little boy!
Anyways, he wanted to have a "Moon" birthday party (inspired by his favorite book Goodnight Moon and his obsession with the real moon). We decided to make it a family party, because even with just family, there were over 20 people and our house isn't THAT big! It was so fun to have everyone come to help celebrate with us. Colton had a fun day and definitely felt the love of his family. And now he has some fun new toys to play with (even though I specifically asked for people not to get him ANYTHING! Am I a mean mom? We just have so much stuff!)
Thank you everybody!! We love you all!
So, Paul thought it would be appropriate to dress Colton like an astronaut for the moon party. They disappeared for a few minutes and Colton showed up looking like this...
Pitiful, huh? He was not completely thrilled with his new look or with the fact that his arms couldn't really rest by his side. It's hard to tell from the picture, but he has so many layers on and he felt so FAT!! It was great! It was too hot to wear this in the house, so Paul took him outside to play. Hopefully none of the neighbors saw him.
Present time. Good thing Colton had such a great helper for opening presents.
Look at this sweet boy. This is Kent and Candace's adorable little guy, Bodie. We're glad he came to party with us!
And finally, Colton's cupcake face. I guess I didn't get any pictures of the moon stuff, or even of the cupcakes. I think my dad did, so I'll have to get them from him. Anyways, Colton loved his Moon party and I love my sweet two year old!

Love the astronaut picture. Too funny!! You are so creative with the moon theme. Glad it was great!
I just can't believe that he is two and that the last time I saw him he was an itty bitty baby! Yikes, how time flies. Both of your sweeties are just so big. I'm glad that you had such a fun party with your family. It sounds like you are loving being close to them. Give the kids a hug from us, especially that birthday boy!
That was a funny picture! He'll look back on it one day and laugh too, even if he was not fond of the costume at the time. It's nice to keep up with your family. Thanks for visiting my blog as well. Haley is so big now and she is so beautiful. What a lovely family you have.
Lauren :)
SO CUTE! Nice try, Paul, on the astronaut outfit. I think it is so sweet that Colton loves the moon. He is such a babe, and I hope he will marry Ella. She's only six months older! Ella Kristine Black. Perfect.
Is that Kent Williford's son Bodie? Whaaaaaaat?????
Emily!! I am so glad to hear from you. What a cute family you have, and I'll bet you are the cutest mom, too. You will have to post some more Emily pictures. Thanks for checking in--I'm so glad we can stay in touch this way.
Cute Emily! My baby is approaching 2, how sad! Maybe its about that time...for another. Being pregnant is the pits though. I am glad you had a fun first 2 years with your little guy!
love,
mel
PS-Chauncey and I are pretty certain we will be moving there in a year. Where do you all live?
Alright Emily--it's time to set Jessie straight on the whole "Colton marrying Ella" thing. I'd hate for her to get her hopes up too high only to be dashed to pieces....Abilene is 6 weeks YOUNGER and let's face it--you don't want your boy moving to OREGON--and I'd be happy to move back to NC!! :)
Colton looks too cute in his astronaut costume! Luke was looking at the pictures with me and we both got a big smile from that one! I'm glad you guys had a fun time. I can see what you were talking about when you said Grant and Colton look like they could be brothers. That's kind of funny. We miss you guys!
Colton is going to see that picture when he is older and wonder if yall were trying to suffocate him!! ha ha.
He looks super cute
